We're at it again....departing our home this morning for a trip in the RV to visit four western states - Colorado, Utah, Arizona, & New Mexico - and the national and state parks there. Our plan it to see all we can within the available time with the understanding that it is not really enough time to do all we would like.....will likely need to go again ;-)
We plan to be home by mid October but are somewhat flexible to extend if it becomes necessary.
Kathy and I are traveling alone this time as our Alaska trip camping friends, Ed and Kay Culpepper, are also leaving today but they are headed for the north east USA and into Canada.
We plan to keep friends, family and interested folks up to date with our travels via this blog.
Original plan was to make a quick run without sightseeing to Colorado to begin the touristy part of the trip but we soon realized that we would arrive just in time for Labor Day week-end and everything was booked. Since we don't like to book reservations for the entire trip, or very far in advance, we run the risk of no availability....trade off for having a more flexible schedule.
So.....now when we depart today we have a target destination near Nashville, Tennessee where we will stay a day or two. Depending on weather we may play golf and we also have an appointment set up to visit the plant where Oliver Travel Trailers are manufactured.....yes we are at least thinking about a change in horses.
Loading up the gear now for departure....stay tuned for highlights, observations and hopefully some interesting photos.
